Thermostats allow you to control the temperature of your tortoise's enclosure.These are considered to be energy efficient. These will prevent over-heating or under cooling.
Thermostats for Tortoises
Differents speices of tortoises have different heat requirements. The best way to get the correct temperature for your tortoise is to have the a suitable heatlamp and thermostat. Thermostats control the temperature under heat lamps by adjusting the power supplied to them. All heating equipment should be monitored carefully to ensure they are working correctly as the labelled temperature is rarely the correct temperature. They should be kept clean and the electrics inspected periodically too.
Habistat Dimmer Thermostat
Sophisticated Dimming thermostat, designed specifically for controlling light bulbs. The Dimming thermostat is one of the most accurate methods of temperature control and whilst it is perfect for controlling light bulbs, it can be used on almost any heaters. Unlike other Habistat thermostats, it does require a minimum load of 40 watts, but has a maximum capacity of 600 watts at 230 volts. Delivery and packaging is included in the price.
Habistat Dimmer Day/Night
Dimming thermostat with the capacity to drop the temperature at night if attached to a timer. The function of this thermostat is the same as the standard Dimming thermostat, but with the added facility of a night time temperature drop ability. With many species it is important to give them a cycle of warm day time temperatures and cool night temperatures. Many species would experience this in their natural environment.
Through an additional mains input lead and via a time switch or a Habistat 'Night eye' (not included). Delivery and packaging is included in the price.
Cool Control™ is a thermostat that switches the power on when a set temperature is reached and off once the temperature has fallen below the set level. It is like an ordinary thermostat but only in reverse. It is commonly used to switch on cooling devices and thus prevent overheating. Fans like the HabiStat™ MiniFan™ are typical of the devices controlled. Where safety consciousness is called for, HabiStat’s Cool Control™ leads the field.
